Julia 8 months

Julia is 8 month today! Some of the things that she likes to do lately are clap her hands and she is talking a lot saying da da, ma ma, or ba ba. She still is just very content sitting and playing with toys. She shows no interest in trying to crawl. She has a pretty long reach that she can get to most everything she wants. She loves to sleep on her belly. We always put her on her back to sleep but she turns over right away. She does not roll over unless she is in her bed. She has been eating her toes lately while laying down or sitting she somehow finds them. She is a great eater and eats three meals a day with usually four bottles. She still sleeps well at night and takes two naps. She has decided she does not want to sleep at church for the past three weeks but it has not been too bad. She stays pretty happy for most of the meetings. She is always getting comments of how chubby she is everywhere we go. They always want to grab her thighs. People always ask what I am feeding her. We love our chubby little girl and her cute chubby cheeks! Dean is still great at making her laugh and lately at making her cry. He has been pushing her down while she is sitting at least a couple of times a day. Not sure why he is doing it but she has been a real trooper and calms down quickly. Even though he shows some tough love at times, Dean still loves to give her hugs and kisses and is always concerned when she is crying(except when he is the one that made her cry).

Mom's Friday Night with the Kids

After a long week I was left home alone with the kids to start the weekend. Brian went on his monthly camping trip with the scouts and was able to take Noah for the first time now that he is 11. Normally it is fine and I am used to these camping weekends (Brian has been working with the scouts for over 3 years now) but for some reason this week seemed to drag on and my patience was being tested. I was not looking forward to being left alone with the wee ones until Saturday afternoon but I decided to make the most of it. I ordered a Papa John's Pizza - vegetarian, it was so yummy! I gave Julia a bath in the kitchen sink while watching Dean play outside with the hose. It turned out better than I thought.I love this little girl, she is so sweet!
It is fun taking pictures of the kids when they don't know it. Dean was in heaven playing in the water in the nude.

Well not everything went great. I decided to do a load a random laundry and when I went to switch it to the dryer I smelt a strong scent of detergent. When I opened up the washer this is what I found. I had bought two things of detergent last night and remember quickly placing them on top of the washer not realizing it was open. I remember wondering where they were earlier today but it was a passing thought. They stayed in tack but I did need to do another rinse cycle. I thought it was pretty funny.

Fun at Home

Dean and Julia just hanging out playing together
Dean's favorite thing to do lately is to put all of his toys around and usually on Julia. It is great that he is learning to share with her. She doesn't mind as you can see in the picture below.

The other day Dean was coloring and decided it would be fun drawing on himself. This was a first for him. Good thing they are washable markers because it came off when he went swimming.

Nursery

This is Dean's nursery class (minus half because of summer, he normally is not the only boy) and his wonderful teachers the Woolsey's. He loves going to nursery and loves his teachers!

Bath Time

I could'nt get them to smile at the same time. This is as good as I could get.

Hiking

One activity that Brian and Noah did earlier this summer was hiking Tortilla Flats. They enjoyed going early in the morning to beat the summer heat. They went in June before it got too hot.
