Stinky Book

I could not be happier about the way Noah and Dean have hit it off. Dean lights up whenever Noah is home and Dean loves to play with Noah and follow him around. Nobody can make Dean laugh like Noah, and Noah loves the audience. However, today things changed. Noah had made a visit to the downstairs bathroom. Noah had left the door open to the bathroom, which is a no-no, because Dean periodically will crawl down the hallway simply to check on the rare occurrence of an open door to this room, which clearly is very exciting. I had found Dean in the bathroom and removed him. Several minutes later Noah went to the bathroom to search for his book. It is about a 400 pager. Noah found it in the toilet. Apparently Dean had figured out how to lift the lid and decided to see if Noah's book would float. Dean loves to find things and then put other things inside of it. Noah was upset. He was very concerned about his book, but also very upset at his brother. This was the first time Noah was upset at Dean. Noah showed great restraint...barely. Noah asked if we can put the book in the dryer. I am not sure if that works.

Noah's Rocket Derby

Conference Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend during Conference. We enjoyed spending time as a family listening to the prophets speak and other leaders of the church speak. Noah and Dean did there best watching and listening but at times they got a little distracted, making it a little difficult for Brian and I to focus. Thanks goodness for the internet and the Ensign! Dean is already trying to wrestle with Noah. They are so cute together!
While Brian was gone during the Priesthood session I took the boys to Organ Stop Pizza. My sister Emily invited us along with my Mom. Emily's sister in law Amber came also with her kids. We had a fun time listening to the music and eating.
Aunt Emily, who is expecting a girl in a few weeks, is holding Dean

Noah was able to request a few songs for the organist to play.

Volleyball update

This is my cousin Deborah and I before our last volleyall game. Our team took 5th and even though we were not the best we got better each week. I even got to work on my setting the last few week as I became the team setter. It was a blast playing and freshing up my skills. Thanks Deborah for inviting me to play!

Dean is Walking!?!?

I don't know how many steps a baby has to walk before you can officially say that they have learned how to walk. For quite a while Dean has been able to pull himself up to to furniture and walls and walk along beside them holding on. He has even ventured out for one or two steps before deciding to plop down and crawl. However, today I tempted Dean with a popsicle and he walked along the couch until I moved to popsicle just out of reach. He was so focused on the popsicle that he simply let go and began walking. Becky and I counted each step...1...2...3...4...5! I think that at 5 steps he realized what was happening and he sat down again. So is it now official?

What will he do next?

This is how I found Dean this morning when he woke up. Accident or really advanced for his age? Either way it was so darn cute!

Dean is 11 months

Our baby is continuing to grow and is learning so much. He loves to stand and walk around the furniture and has taken a couple of steps on his own. He loves to let go of things and just stand. He thinks it is funny and usually laughs when he does it. He loves to clap and is starting to wave. Dean loves to eat and stuffs food in his mouth faster than we can give it to him. He loves fruits and vegetables and usually eats whatever we give him. He is still not a fan of drinking juice though. He loves to say "hi dad" at least that's what it sounds like to us. He loves to laugh and will laugh at anything when he is tired. He still gets his serious looks but once he warms up to people he is all smiles. He loves to flirt with whoever is sitting behind us at church, that is how he keeps entertained in sacrament meeting. He takes two naps a day and will go down for the night around 6:30 or 7. He loves to sleep in his bed and rarely fusses when we put him to bed. He enjoys looking at books, playing with his toys, going to the park and playing in the sand. He is a fast crawler and loves to crawl all over the house, at least the parts we let him explore. He is so fun to be around and his happy most of the time. He finally has tooth number 5. He is becoming more vocal especially when he is eating. He grunts when he wants more to eat. He has never been a very cuddly baby but lately when he is tired he will let us cuddle with him. What a treat for us! I just cherish those moments!
Just showing off for the camera!

This is an example of how much he will eat at one time.
